Oreo Chick pops recipe

CHICK OREO POPS RECIPE

Here’s a little something to keep you and your little chicks busy this Easter half term. Totally fuss free and easy peasy no bake recipe!! What could be cuter and yummier than an Oreo Chick Pop?

We've provided a step by step guide below and a easy to follow video by our Founder Adelle Smith and her son Cai. Happy Easter guys!

Ingredients

Icing Sugar, for dusting
60g orange sugarpaste
154g-pack Oreo biscuits
1 bag yellow candy melts
Yellow shimmer sprinkles

Tools

Non-stick mat
Silicone rolling pin
Blossom plunger cutter (optional)
Sharp Knife
Heatproof bowl
Saucepan

135g Unsalted butter, softened
160g Caster sugar
55g Cocca powder
50g Self-rasing flour, sifted
2 medium free range eggs, lightly beaten
20g chocolate chips
10g marshmallows
Toppings (optional - e.g pretels, sprinkles, chocolate beans).

Spatula
Mixing bowl
Sieve
Baking tray (170x139x25mm)
Baking parchment
Wire rack

STEP BY STEP GUIDE

STEP 1

Dust the non-stick mat with a little icing sugar or cornflour. Using the silicone rolling pin, roll out a small amount of orange sugarpaste to about 4mm in thickness.

STEP 2

Cut four flowers per chick for the wings and feet using a blossom plunger cutter. Roll 14 small balls of sugarpaste and pinch the tops to make a small cone-shaped beak for each chick.

STEP 3

Separate the two halves of your Oreos using a sharp knife. Roll the Oreo along the knife – that way there is less chance of it snapping.

Set a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water over a medium heat (bain-marie). Add the candy melts to the bowl and stir for 2–5 minutes until melted.

STEP 5

Dip the ends of the cake-pop sticks into the melted chocolate and put them in the centre of each Oreo. Carefully sandwich the two halves of the Oreos back together. Let the chocolate set for around 5 minutes.

STEP 6

Dunk your Oreo pops in the melted chocolate and top immediately.
